The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today released guidance for celebrating Thanksgiving and slowing the spread of COVID-19 during holiday gatherings.

“As cases continue to increase rapidly across the United States, the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to celebrate at home with the people you live with,” the guidance states.

For those considering travel, the guidance recommends checking travel restrictions, getting a flu shot, wearing a mask in public settings, staying at least 6 feet apart from anyone who does not live with you and washing your hands often, among other suggestions. It also includes considerations for those hosting or attending small gatherings.
